YOUR PREPARATION ROADMAP
Move from foundations to timed practice
Use these phases as a flexible sequence. Adjust their length to your remaining months and diagnostic results.
Early preparation
Build your foundations
Check the official syllabus, take a diagnostic paper and identify prerequisites. Start mathematics, aptitude and one foundational branch subject.
- Record accuracy, time and unfamiliar concepts.
- Learn with small untimed question sets.
- Create a syllabus checklist and error log.
Main study phase
Cover the core syllabus
Study subjects in prerequisite order. Pair each new concept with varied previous year questions and revisit mistakes after a few days.
- Set one concrete learning goal per week.
- Use topic history alongside your weak areas.
- Keep time for topics missing from the archive.
After core coverage
Connect topics under time
Finish syllabus gaps, mix question types and attempt timed previous papers. Diagnose missed marks by topic and cause.
- Practise MCQ, MSQ and numerical questions.
- Compare results on unfamiliar questions.
- Review every paper before the next attempt.
Final weeks
Revise and rehearse
Alternate full papers, error-log review and targeted refreshers. Use your actual paper date to protect time for revision.
- Reattempt difficult questions without solutions.
- Keep mock conditions consistent.
- Balance revision with rest and recovery.
Make each study week measurable
Example: a 12-hour study week
Scale this to your schedule; transfer learning time to mocks near the exam.
- Concepts and worked examples
- 6 hours
- Topic PYQs
- 3 hours
- Mistake review
- 2 hours
- Mathematics or aptitude
- 1 hour
Use a repeatable practice loop
Understanding and review make practice useful.
- Learn one concept from a reliable source.
- Attempt related PYQs before revealing answers.
- Classify errors: concept, reading, calculation, recall or timing.
- Write corrected reasoning, assumptions and units.
- Reattempt later, then try an unfamiliar question.
Choose a sensible learning order
Computer Science
Build discrete mathematics and programming before algorithms. Use architecture foundations for OS memory topics, relational concepts for databases, and networking layers for protocol problems.
Electronics and Communication
Build mathematics and circuits before signals and control. Connect device principles to analog circuits, and Boolean logic to sequential digital design.
